The Carbon Fibre WRX STI
Share
You can stop staring now, you have noticed all the carbon fibre, right? This 2015 WRX STI is Scott Lornie’s daily driver and it looks, epic.
“You might say I was late to the party”.
Although Scott didn’t learn to drive until his mid-twenties, he was quick to realise the amount of freedom that owning a car can give you. “Most of the cars I’ve owned have ended up modified in one way or another.” – this Subie (the fifth he has owned in the past 12 years), is no exception. Having owned the car for almost 3 years Scott has been modifying the car since he got they keys, and we think he’s done a great job.

“As you can see I have a bit of an obsession for carbon fibre”. Carbon fibre pieces include a bonnet from Seibon Carbon, rear wing and fog light air ducts from APR Performance and front fenders from Burnz Auto. If all that carbon wasn’t enough, Scott has also added interior dress up pieces and a blue carbon steering wheel from Burnz Auto too. The WRX is currently mapped to a modest 336bhp/365torque which is still capable of pulling your face off as and when you wish. Additionally, Scott’s Subaru is “Scotland’s first 2015+ WRX STI”, fitted with Air Lift Performance 3p air suspension – very cool.
Whilst Scott’s car currently looks the dogs b*******, further plans include Braum Racing elite series seats along with harness bar and harnesses as well as (be prepared), more carbon fibre work in the form of a wide arch kit (we can’t wait to see this) and a full wrap and engine build to compliment the amazing exterior.

As the days on the calendar shorten, it’s looking more and more likely that 2020 will be the year without any major car shows, so Scott is hoping to attend as many local meets as possible and travel to other areas of Scotland to meet up with some of the amazing car enthusiasts on Instagram – yes, we’re talking to you.
Being into Jap cars, Scott would love to own a member of the godzilla family, and as we all know any GTR before 2014 costs an eye watering amount. Not that the R35 wouldn’t set you back a penny or two, but you get the idea… Scott (and myself) would love a Nissan GTR, if he didn’t own his Subaru WRX STI or his weekend car, an AMS Murtaya which is a Subaru based kit car “ultra-rare and so much fun, 350bhp and weighs just over a tonne”.
Thank you, Scott, for letting us borrow some of your time, make sure to head to his Instagram channel and check out the build, we cannot wait for what’s to come!
